How The Mathis Brothers Came Into Existence
The Mathis Brothers Furniture has been in the furniture industry for decades, it all started back 1955. The two people responsible for the success and accomplishments of this entity are Don and Bud, they are brothers that started the family business, and since they are both innately in love with furniture they decided to make a living out of what they are interested in. When they had everything ready to finally open a shop, they thought why not name it with their last name Mathis, and that’s where the trademark came from. Putting their idea to execution was their very first goal, and since they are both from Oklahoma, they focused on spreading their brand and promote it in their own hometown. The brand became a hit, when families that newly moved in the community asked where’s the best place that houses he finest furniture, only Mathis will be recommended.
As the years go by, the two brothers worked hard and committed everything they’ve got to make sure what they started will remain in its stagnant position in the market. But unfortunately, Bud grew tired of the business, he wanted to embark on other career opportunities where can further hone his skills and knowledge in the business world. With that in mind, he then left the company entirely for Don to handle, and even though Bud moved out of the company leaving Don to claim the entire business to him, the business was still very much in tact thanks to the hard work and dedication of Don. When Don had two sons named Bill and Larry, they were now the second generation Mathis Brothers that will soon take over the family legacy.
Larry and Bill grew up watching their father operate the business, and Don was so much grateful that his two sons shared his passion in furniture. By the time two younger brothers came into adulthood, they told their father that they will buy the company from him. Dom said yes in a heartbeat, he immediately transferred all the rights to his two sons. It was in that moment where Bill and Larry decided to bring the company to new level, thus the birth of their “Everyday Low Prices” began. The Mathis Brothers became so successful that in this very day they have opened 9 stores scattered all over Oklahoma and California, and that is just enough proof on how passionate the Mathis boys are with what they do.
